Makeup by Finesse Makeup is again featured in City Life Magazine.

I did the makeup for the photo-shoot with City Life's General Manager Toni Jones.

It was a lot of fun and Toni was a real star!

Check out pages 56 & 57 of the December issue and I'll post the pages as soon as City Life sends them through to me.

Formal Makeup

I did makeup for three VIP's this afternoon ... Trinity Bay State High School graduates Katie Pierce and Jessica Blanckensee and Jessica's mum Lynelle.

Jessica is wearing Cinema Secrets waterproof creme foundation while Lynelle is wearing Arbonne's Perfecting Liquid Foundation with SPF15 and skin firming properties.

I hope they are enjoying a very special evening at the Cairns Convention Centre as they officially mark the end of an era.

Michelle & Rick Bremner's Professional Photos

I just received a copy of Michelle and Rick Bremner's professional photos from their wedding at Trinity Beach on the first of May so I thought I would share them.

I really enjoyed doing the makeup for these women. Those who have been following the blog will recall that I went to school with Michelle and that her older sister Kirsten was my Japanese teacher so it was a really nice blast from the past!

Swiss Beauty Workshop

I held my first ever Swiss Beauty Workshop today with Arbonne's Ultra-Premium Swiss Skincare and Cosmetics!

The workshops are an educational interactive pampering session where you get to try the skincare and makeup.

The thing I absolutely love about Arbonne is that the products are all botanically based with certified organic Swiss herbs. There are no harmful ingredients which means every product is pure, safe and beneficial.

The makeup is incredible and because of the natural ingredients and amazing technology it's also really good for your skin. I've been using the Perfecting Liquid Foundation with SPF 15 and skin firming properties... in just five days, I've noticed an incredible difference in the way my skin looks and feels - it's very exciting!

If you would like to learn about proper skincare then book a Swiss Beauty Workshop with Finesse Makeup. There is no charge and the benefits will be with you for life.

Beautiful Photos from Karen and Adam Wescott's Wedding

Amy Adams Photography has done a fantastic job capturing Karen and Adam's wedding, I think you will agree that the photos are gorgeous.

I really enjoyed doing the makeup for these ladies and we had a very relaxed morning.

I first met Karen when I did her makeup when she was a bridesmaid at a mutual friend's wedding, I'm not sure if she caught the bouquet but now she is married - Congratulations Karen and Adam!

Annette Keough's Wedding Photos

Annette Keough has just sent me a copy of some of the photos from her wedding day in Port Douglas.

I did the makeup for Annette, her mum and her two bridesmaids.

As you can see, Annette has stunning eyes so I made sure that they were the focus of her face.

New brushes and a makeup case!

I am so excited ... I've just bought a brand new makeup case to fit the rapidily expanding stock of makeup that I have...

And the new brushes and M.A.C palette that I ordered have also arrived along with some new NYX products.

I met Bec and Crystal from Perth this morning. They are both guests at a wedding at Palm Cove and they booked me to do their makeup so I was able to try out some of my new eyeshadows!

Tomorrow I am holding a one hour makeup class for a lady who is in Cairns on holidays. I'll be giving her lots of tips and teaching her some of the tricks that I use as a professional. We'll also talk about how to choose the right colours and I'll also teach her ways to enhance her facial features by contouring and highlighting.

If you'd like to book a makeup class email me at abigail@finessemakeup.com or check out my website www.finessemakeup.com

Busy Weekend of Weddings

Friday... one makeup at The Sea Temple in Palm Cove before heading into Cairns to do 3 makeup for the bridal party's guests.

Saturday... out to Woree to meet Kylisha from Sydney. Jetstar had lost half her luggage but luckily she had the clothes she needed for her Sister-In-Law's wedding in Palm Cove that afternoon. From Kylisha to Courtney - I had the pleasure of doing the makeup for the inspirational woman behind the Pretty In Pink event at Cannon Park. The event was a huge success and a really enjoyable day.

Sunday... 10.30am start in Port Douglas making Tracey and her two daughters look beautiful. The family was on holidays from Melbourne. A quick stop at Palm Cove on the way home to do Katherine's makeup and that's a wrap for another busy but very enjoyable weekend of beautiful makeovers.

Denise Cavallaro

Denise was married in Cairns on Saturday the 7th of August.

Denise and her bridal party from Innisfail stayed at the Casino and that was where I went to do the makeup for the gorgeous bride, her mum and her two bridesmaids.

Instead of ordering room service the women brought their own home made goodies like banana cake!

I hope you like the photos - to see more visit www.finessemakeup.com

3 Weddings in one day!

I had a 5.30am start from Cairns this morning up the coast road to Port Douglas for 3 weddings.

Sorry there are no photos with this post as there just wasn't any time to take pictures!! However, as soon as I have the professional shots back I will post them.

The first bridal party to be made up was Caroline's at the Port Douglas Central Plaza Appartments.

Caroline used to live in Cairns but after being made redundant by CEC she was forced to find work further afield and ended up on a mine site at Karratha in WA. Welcome home Caroline - if only briefly. There's no time for a honeymoon as Caroline has to be back at work next week!

Next I was off to the Balboa Appartments to meet Jennifer and her bridal party who'd come all the way from Ireland for a ceremony at the St Mary's By The Sea chapel.

Back to the Central Plaza Appartments to make Kerrie and her bridal party look beautiful before calling it a day.

Wow that was a busy Saturday!

Lee & Richard

Lee and Richard from Mareeba were also married in Port Douglas yesterday at the St Mary's By the Sea chapel.

I did makeup for Lee, her two bridesmaids, her mum and the best man who was in fact a woman!

Wedding Dramas!

Alicia and Johhny were married today at St Mary's By the Sea Chapel in Port Douglas.

But the day wasn't without its dramas!

The bridal party is staying at the exclusive Bali Hai Retreat in the rainforest north of Mossman.

This morning the catering truck for their wedding reception took a turn for the worst and rolled off the road and down an embankment before coming to rest in a cane paddock...

The driver was taken to Mossman Hospital...

While the rest of the catering crew continued setting up under the marquee.

Unfortunately, the Emergency Department at Mossman Hospital is a venue which this bridal party from Brisbane and Sydney is fast becoming familiar with.

Earlier today one of Alicia's bridesmaids was anxiously awaiting news after her partner tripped over and had to be taken to the hospital for stitches. Could anything else go wrong! Let's hope not.

At least the hair and makeup went well...

All seven women looked fabulous and despite the day's drama, Alicia was the absolute picture of perfection and remained completely calm throughout.
