Sally’s Wedding Day Preparations

I don’t normally think to take “before” and “after” photos but Mika from Heaven on Earth Photography has captured some beautiful shots from the morning of Sally’s wedding day so I thought I would take this opportunity to give a “behind-the-scenes” look at the beauty preparations on the wedding day.

We know the boys usually spend a few hours in the pool or having a hit of golf, but this is what the girls get up to on the morning of the wedding day!

The mother of the bride is up first and it all starts by prepping the skin with a girl’s best friend…moisturiser… while that’s settling we put the hair in hot rollers.



Next… we apply a water-proof, sweat-proof, tear-proof foundation with build-able coverage…in between some healthy snacks!















After setting our base we work on the eyes, blending and building with shadows to shape and define.



 A touch of lip color and Sally’s mum is ready…


 

The bridesmaids are next!

Again we start by moisturising then building a base.

Once that has set, we focus on the eyes with waterproof mascara and eyeliner to create a fresh, natural look for Sally’s garden wedding ceremony.

By now, it’s mid-morning and we are really on a roll.

The photographer has been snapping away and the videographer is capturing all the excitement as the countdown begins.

With her bridal party looking beautiful, it’s time to make Sally shine!



We set her hair in hot rollers then apply some moisturiser.

 

Our water-resistant foundations give a great base to work with  

 

Eyeshadows, waterproof eyeliner, mascara, and a few little tricks…

It all comes together for a fantastic finish

Naomi and Nathan

Naomi and Nathan were married in the beautiful historic village of Yungaburra which is nestled high in the mountains above Cairns on the Atherton Tablelands.



The wedding party were all booked into Eden House so that’s where we traveled to get Naomi and her bridesmaids ready for the wedding.



It was a chilly morning but by the time we finished doing everyone’s hair and makeup it was nice and toasty. The cosy log fire helped!

I took a few photos of the girls’ hair and makeup before we left…

Sally and Reuben’s Amazing wedding video

We helped Sally, her bridesmaids and her mum with hair and makeup at a gorgeous Queenslander in Cairns for her outdoor wedding at the Cairns Botanic Gardens.

Corinne & Jarret’s Rainbow Wedding

I think it’s fair to say Corrine and Jarret are creative spirits who love something a little quirky.

It’s probably also fair to say theirs is a wedding day I’ll remember for a long time because we all had  so much fun!

I first met Corinne while doing makeup for a television commercial, she had already booked me to do the makeup for her wedding so it was a lovely surprise to put a name to a face.

We did a hair and makeup trial with Corinne in Cairns a couple of weeks before her wedding to decide on colours and styles for the big day.

 

On the couple’s wedding day, Corinne, her mother and her bridesmaids all got ready at The Angsana Resort and Spa at Palm Cove.

The views from the beachfront balcony were amazing! We could also keep an eye on the Wedding Chapel where in just a few hours Corinne and Jarret would be tieing the knot.

With the wedding day beauty preparations well and truly underway, the crew from Mefoto arrived to take some pictures.

There was a lot of love, a lot of laughs and a lot of Star Wars references throughout this rainbow coloured wedding day, even Civil Celebrant Wayne Rees got into character.

The talented team at Mefoto have captured some beautiful images and there’s also a video of the antics from this most memorable wedding day which had it all.

From the Groom arriving by helicopter in a spectacular landing on Palm Cove Beach just metres from people sunbaking to a rainbow wedding cake. Corinne and Jarret thought of everything!
